Maybe this athlete was at the top, blowing past the competition…. Until one year, they fell short of the prize and was regarded as “Oh, that athlete is not what he/she used to be” or “the competition now caught up to that athlete”…. Until the next year came along…. and your favorite athlete came back with a chip on his/her shoulder and rose back to the top!

How did this happen? Did the competition get worse? Did your favorite athlete take the year off prior? Absolutely not! It’s because of the focus and dedication in the off-season to come back stronger and more prepared for the upcoming season. Your favorite athlete got smarter about his/her training and recovery.

When you hit a plateau, I almost guarantee you your body adapted to the workout demands that were placed on your body.
