Speed and Agility Training Workout For Football
Speed and agility training is the base of any football players training. Beginner athletes must work on it just as hard as professional athletes do.
Adding in defensive back drills to your training will help improve your technique, footwork, and man-to-man pass coverage skills to help take your game to the next level.
Football has evolved into a pass first game. Majority of teams have abandoned the old school wing-t and i-formation to run a spread offense.
This means as a defensive back, your coverage skills need to be precise! You’re the last line of the defense. It’s you and behind you… the end zone.
You need be aware of what coverage you’re in on every play and communicate with your safeties and cornerbacks to make sure everyone is on the same page.
As a defensive back, your primary goal is pass first, but once you confirm it’s a run play, you need to react quickly to help your teammates and get into the play to make a tackle to stop the run.
At Gridiron Elite Training, we work every skill it takes to be a defensive back in today’s game.
